The front door has a video intercom, and every bedroom has one too, so a resident can see and speak to whoever is at the door without getting up. Support in the home
Support on site is delivered by Supporting Disabilities Australia, who already support a resident in the front dwelling on the same site, so a person moving in joins an established support arrangement rather than having to build one from scratch. The SDA agreement is with Better Living Solutions and the support agreement is separate, so a change of support provider never puts the home at risk.
The area
Merrylands West is an established suburb in western Sydney. Merrylands station and Stockland Merrylands are about five minutes away by car, Guildford station is the alternative, and local buses stop on the street. Westmead Hospital and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead are about fifteen minutes by car, and Parramatta is a little further on. The site sits in the Cumberland Council area.
